Our #1 goal at STRONGROCK is to “Leave No Doubt”. We intend to be a trusted partner in every project and we’ll go the extra mile to ensure success for every client.
At STRONGROCK Engineering, we’re proud to be different. We shy away from traditional perceptions and antiquated structures of Civil Engineering. We understand that speed and responsiveness are the key ingredients to a successful project. With that in mind, we’ve built an “assembly-line approach” that can deliver speed and responsiveness while maintaining capacity for a large workload. Time and again, this method has proven to save 1-2 weeks at each project milestone.
We believe in the following principles:
– Honesty (in all things)
– Integrity (above all else)
– Respect (for ourselves and others)
– Responsiveness (to everyone)
– Efficiency (to complete projects and grow our business)
– Flexibility (to build relationships)
– Generosity (to help others)
Our business is built on a strong foundation: our people. Learn more about the collaborators, innovators and visionaries that make up our amazing team below.
Josh began his career as a project engineer at HNTB in Raleigh, NC working on various airport design and construction projects throughout the southeast. While performing construction inspections, Josh found a passion for construction and for being a part of incredible teams that implemented engineering designs into real world applications.
In 2006, a new opportunity presented itself and Josh spent the next five years working for Carter & Burgess, Inc. (purchased by Jacobs Engineering in 2008) as a civil engineer, earning a professional engineer’s license in 2009.
In 2011, Josh joined Don Curry as a civil engineer with The Curry Engineering Group which was founded in 2010. Working for a small (but growing) business was an invaluable experience in both civil engineering and business development. Josh was immersed in business finance, client interaction, municipal interaction, construction administration, office cleaning, and printer/copier repair.
In 2013, Josh accepted a new position at HHHunt operating as a project manager, and performing duties related to land acquisition and development. The civil engineering and entitlement experience proved to be an asset for this opportunity, and the team at HHHunt provided a great atmosphere for learning the intricacies of real estate acquisition.
In 2015, Josh’s passions for construction, business development, and real estate merged together in the form of The Strong Rock Development Company, a fee development company that quickly gained notoriety for reliable construction management services and the ability to maneuver the many intricacies of development projects. Strong Rock Development company continues to provide a broad spectrum of land development and construction management services.
Since 2015, Josh has been instrumental in starting 5 other Strong Rock Brands:
– STRONGROCK Property Group
– STRONGROCK Surveying + Geomatics
– STRONGROCK Engineering Group
– STRONGROCK Environmental + Restoration
– STRONGROCK Community + Outreach
Each brand is continually making an impact thanks to a rapidly growing team of incredibly skilled individuals, and Josh thrives on the daily energy this team exudes.
Outside of work Josh enjoys spending time with his wife, Megan, traveling, playing sports, playing in a garage band, and chasing two energetic toddlers.
